Medela is a Swiss company that specializes in the development and manufacture of breast pumps and breastfeeding accessories. The company was founded in 1961 and is headquartered in Baar, Switzerland. Medela is owned by a private equity firm called Novator Partners, which acquired a majority stake in the company in 2010. Medela has operations in more than 90 countries and employs over 2,000 people worldwide. Some of the company's best-known products include the Medela Swing Breast Pump and the Medela Calma Breastfeeding Device.
